Abstract :
Elderly or someone aged ?60 years will experience aging, aging will
cause decreased kidney function. The kidneys play an important role in the process of
uric acid excretion, if kidney function is impaired it will cause an increase in uric acid
levels / hyperuricemia. Hyperuricemia conditions play an important role in the
inflammatory process that causes an increase in blood pressure. This study aims to
determine the level of uric acid on blood pressure in the elderly (elderly).
This research is a literature study or literature study using three secondary
data taken from two journals and one thesis. The data analysis used is descriptive
analysis.
The results of statistical tests from one source showed that there was no
significant relationship between uric acid levels and blood pressure in the elderly (P>
0.05) and two sources showed a significant relationship between uric acid levels and
blood pressure in the elderly (elderly) (P <0.05).
The conclusion is uric acid levels are not associated with blood pressure
in the elderly (elderly).
