Abstract :
The K2EDTA vacutainer tube is best recommended by ICSH (International
Council for Standardization in Hematology) and CLSI (Clinical and Laboratory
Standards Institute). Comparison of blood with inappropriate anticoagulants can
give inaccurate results, especially MCV values. In the hospital practice improper
filling of tubes is still common. The purpose of this study was to determine the
effect of variations in blood volume in the K2EDTA vacutainer tube on MCV
values.
This research study of literature uses descriptive analysis sourced from
journals and books in the last 10 years. Based on data analysis, the examination is
carried out automatically by taking blood using the K2EDTA vacutainer tube with
various variations in blood volume.
The study results of P value is >0,05 it showed that was no significant
effect of differences in the variation volume on K2EDTA vacutainer on MCV
value.
After analyzing it was concluded that the variation in blood volume in the
K2EDTA vacutainer tube did not significantly influence the MCV value.
