Abstract :
Library space is an academic facility and infrastructure that functions as a
place for students and lecturers to obtain information from various media and
librarians who manage libraries. There is a minimum of one library space per
college campus, as long as it meets the standards of the academic community who
use it. Air is one of the most important environmental components in sustaining
life. Even so, the air can also be polluted and contaminated.
Mushrooms are microorganisms that can pollute the air in the room. The
presence of fungal contamination in the air can cause several health problems and
disrupt human activities. The emergence of these health problems can cause
discomfort, moreover the library is a place that is often visited by many people
who also spend a long time in the room.
Scientific Writing based on this literature study aims to determine the
types of airborne contaminant fungi that exist in the library room. This type of
research is a literature study. This study uses secondary data collection taken
from scientific journals, theses, and scientific papers. The data analysis technique
used is descriptive analysis method.
Of the 6 journals used as a reference. Found a fungus that contaminates
the air in the library is dominated by Aspergillus sp. Even so, also found other
fungi such as Cladosporium sp. and Penicillium sp. contaminate the air in the
library room. The fungus is the fungus most commonly found in moist buildings.
The appearance of fungi that contaminate the air can cause several health
problems such as mucous membrane irritation, eye irritation, nasal irritation,
throat irritation, lung and respiratory disorders, and several other diseases.
