Abstract :
Artificial sweeteners are additional ingredients used to addsweetness to food.
Bubble drink producer prefer to use artificial sweeteners, in terms of lower prices
and a higher sweetnees level than natural sweeteners. One artificial sweeteners
that is often used is dulcin. Dulcin sweetener has a 200x sweetness level than
sucrose sweeteners and if consumed can trigger the occurrence of carcinogenic
diseases. The purpose of this study was to determine the existence of qualitative
artificial sweetener dulcin in bubble drink sold in Surakarta city.
This in an analytic research. The sampling technique used is quota sampling.
Research subject used 25 sampels were collected from bubble drink sellers in 5
sub-distrik of the Surakarta city. Dulcin were determined by rapid test kits.
Qualitative test result using a rapid test kit on 25 samples showed negative
results. All samples were not found with dulcin sweetener.
