Abstract :
K2EDTA vacutainer is the best and recommended by ICSH (International
Council for Standardization in Hematology) and CLSI (Clinical and Laboratory
Standards Institute). Comparison between blood and anticoagulants that incorrect
can provide invalid examination results, especially for hematocrite value. In clinic
and hospitals laboratories, underfilling of vacutainer tube is still common. High
anticoagulat may plasma to become hypertonic and disrupt blood osmolarity so
may shrink red blood cells. Selection of anticoagulants and their use at the right
concentration is important and must be considered. Purpose of this study is to
determine the effect of differences blood volume in K2EDTA vacutainer tube to
the value of hematocrite using automatic methods.
This study used descriptive analysis method sourced from research journals.
Based on the review, study was conducted by automatic methods with blood
collection using K2EDTA vacutainer in volume variations.
The study results of R
2 value= 0,988, 0,933 and 0,805, F value =0,614 dan P
value= 0,9575, all showed that was no significant effect on differences in the
variation volume of K2EDTA vacutainer tube on the hematocrit value.
After analysis it was concluded that the difference in variations blood volume
K2EDTA vacutainer tube did not significantly influence the hematocrite value.
