Abstract :
Platelets are the smallest element in the blood that have a normal price of 150,000
- 400,000 cells / µl of blood. Platelet count can be done automatically and manually.
Manual examination using blood smears is the gold standard in calculating platelet
counts, but Medical Laboratory Technology Experts prefer to use automatic devices
to check platelet counts. The purpose of this paper is to find out whether or not there
are differences in the number of platelets between the automatic way of Impedance
by the manual Fonio method.
The research method used is the study of literature that is based on scientific
journals and the results of research that have been done before both already and not
yet published.
The mean of calculating the platelet count is automatically Impedance and manual
Fonio with P-values in all journal are 262,000 and 265,119 with P-values 0,900,
50,167 and 50,033 with P-values 0,740, and 224,580 and 226,080 with P-values
0,906.
From these results it can be concluded that there is no significant difference platelet
count between automatic Impedance and manual Fonio.
