Abstract :
Background : Hepatitis B is an inflammatory liver disease that can
develop into fibrosis, cirrhosis or liver cancer. One of the predisposing factors for
heptitis B infection is tattooing. The more proliferation of cheap tattoo business,
many who ignore the condition of the tattoo needle from the danger of
transmission of hepatitis B infection. Repeated use of tattoo needles can increase
the risk of transmission of hepatitis B infection. The aim of this literature study is
to determine the relationship of permanent tattoo use to hepatitis B infection.
Method : This research is a literature study by collecting reference data in
the form of journals about the relationship of the use of permanent tattoos to
hepatitis B infection. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis to obtain
conclusions from these data.
Results : From three research journals that test the use of permanent
tattoos against hepatitis B transmission, it can increase the risk of transmission of
hepatitis B infection. The number of permanent tattoos, non-professional tattooing
sites, and non-disposable needle conditions indicate an OR (95% Confidence
Intervals) >1 which means that this variable increases the risk of transmission of
hepatitis B infection.
Conclusion : There is a significant relationship between the use of
permanent tattoos to the transmission of hepatitis B infection
