Abstract :
Klebsiella peneumoniae is a Gram negative bacteria that can cause various
infections. Moringa leaf ethyl acetate fraction can be used as an antibacterial.
Moringa leaves contain flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and alkaloids. The purpose
of this study was to study the ability of Moringa oleifera L. morphe fraction in
inhibiting the growth of Klebsiella pneumoniae and to study at what concentration
of Moringa oleifera L. leaves that could produce the largest inhibitory zone for the
growth of Klebsiella pneumoniae. The method used is diffusion discs (Kirby &
Bauer) with concentration series of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. The inhibition zone
results obtained were analyzed by descriptive method. Inhibition zone results
obtained by 100%, 75%, 50%, and 25% by 19.2 mm; 16.1 mm; 14.1 mm; and 6.63
mm. The greatest inhibitory ability of ethanol extract of Moringa leaf ethyl acetate
at 100% concentration was 19.2 mm.
