Abstract :
This study aims to determine the lemon juice (Citrus limon (L.) Osbeck in
reducing levels of heavy metal copper. Lemon juice is carried out phytochemical
screening tests to determine secondary metaboit compounds that can be used to
reduce levels of copper metal. Determination of copper content by squeezing
lemon was added with a copper simulation metal of 10 ppm which was read by
the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry method at a wavelength of 324.8
nm.The determination of copper reduction was carried out using a lemon juice
concentration series of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60% and 70% The results
showed that lemon juice (Citrus limon (L.) Osbeck positively contained active
compounds of citric acid, alkaloids, saponins, and steroids and produced an
average decrease in the level of copper metal after giving lemon juice with a
concentration of 10% of 0.69 (% KV 0.42%), 20% concentration of 1.80 (% KV
0.42%), 30% concentration of 11.85 (% KV 1.28%), concentration of 40% of
33.57 (% KV 0.33%), 50% concentration of 49.92 (% KV 0.86%), 60%
concentration of 54.14 (% KV 0.69%) and 70% concentration of 64 .89 (% KV
0.30%). Lemon juice produces an average concentration value that can reduce
copper up to 50% (EC50) by 55.8
