Abstract :
The role of pharmacists through home care is needed in the management
of DM and its complications. Home care carried out by pharmacists can provide
an understanding of treatment and improve patient compliance with treatment.
Research Objectives is knowing the picture of handling blood sugar levels of
Diabetes Mellitus (DM) patients with home care methods. Research methods
using non-experimental descriptive research by taking data retrospectively from
medical records. The sampling technique used is using a non-probability
sampling technique with a sample size of 55. Data collection techniques with
assistive tools in the form of a checklist are used to determine the characteristics
of respondents and the handling of blood sugar levels. Research results
Characteristics of respondents based on age were mostly> 40 years old 74.54%,
mostly women 63.64%, elementary school graduates 45.45%, unemployed
61.82%. Blood sugar levels of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) patients before home care
is implemented, all patients have high blood sugar, 55 patients are 100% after
home care, the majority of normal blood sugar is 39 respondents (70,91%). Home
care method Conclusion have dropped blood sugar levels of patients with diabetes
mellitus (DM).
