Abstract :
Purple eggplants are one of the vegetables that is widely grow in Asia.
Disturbing organisms in purple eggplants are still found. The residues pesticides
can have a negative impact on the health of human and the environment. Research
on purple eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) was conducted to determine
contamination and chlorpyrifos pesticide levels. Samples were randomly selected
then searched using aseton. Analysis of the content and levels of chlorpyrifos was
performed by UV-Vis spectrophotometry using perchloric acid reagents,
ammonium molibdate, bismuth subnitrate and ascorbic acid at wavelengths 698
nm with operating time 15 min. The average level of pesticides found in purple
eggplant is 0,1732 ± 0,0101 mg / kg with a coefficient variation of 5,9066%. This
level does not exceeds the maximum limit set by Standar Nasional Indonesia
(SNI) for eggplant purple of 0,2 mg / kg.
