Abstract :
Infectious disease is still one of the health problems in the society. Antibiotic
is still be the best choice chosen for the infection. The high use of antibiotics can
cause health problems. The use of antibiotics that are not appropriate will cause
bacterial resistance to antibiotics. The problems arise because of the lack of
public knowledge about antibiotic. The purpose of this study was to determine the
level of public knowledge about antibiotics and their usage in the village of
Mojowetan Sragen Kulon Sragen. This research use quantitatiive descriptive
study by questionnaire measurement tool. The sample is RW 02 Mojo wetan
community members. The number of sample is calculated by the Slovin formula
and 100 sample are obtained. The results of this research in the village of Mojo
Wetan, indicate the level of public knowledge about antibiotics is 31% good, 60 %
sufficient and 19% lack. While the behavior about the usage of antibiotics, the
result is the number of people who have the right behavior 46% and 54% is not
proper. The result showed that Mojo wetan society have an average knewledge
about antibiotics and hopefully the society in Mojowetan will be more concern to
increase their knowledge about antibiotics.
