Abstract :
Typhoid fever is an acule systemic infecttios disease caused by the
bacterium salmonella typhi. Data riskesdas 2020 Showed the prevalence of
typhhoid were diagnosed by helath workers is 0,79% and the prevalence is most
commonly found at the age of 1-12 years. The purpose of this study was to
determine the characteristics of the patien, and the pattern of antibiotic use in
pediatric patients. Research conducted using observational reseacrh using the
retrospective method and data retrieval by puposive sampling. Data taken in
pediatric patients with typhoid fever inpatient Muhammdiyah Wonogiri aged 1-12
years. The samples studied were 100 cases of the total 109 cases of year 2019.
Data were obtained from medical records and analyzed descriptively.
Characteristics of children with typhoid fever patients in this study most are male
54 patients (54%) and female by 46 patients (46%), antibiotics are the most
widely used in single therapy is ceftriaxone as many as 38 cases (38%), followed
by cotrimoxazole were 20 cases (20%), cefixime a total of 14 cases (14%),
cefotaxime 2 cases (2%), kloromfenicol 3 cases (3%), thiamfenicol as much as 1
case (1%), and amoxicillin 1 case (1%).
