Abstract :
Ya pear (Pyrus bretschneideri) is a type of fruit that is sold in Indonesia
and is widely consumed by the public. Ya pear (Pyrus bretschneideri) contains
vitamin C which has antioxidant and immunostimulating activity. The aims of the
researcher was to determine the level of vitamin C in ya pear juice (Pyrus
bretschneideri) by UV-Vis Spektrophotometry. The ya pears that have been
obtained are mashed using a juice extractor. The preparation results obtained were
used for qualitative analysis with color reaction using KMnO4, Iodine, FeCl3 and,
AgNO3 reagents and the specificity of the analysis method. The ya pear was
analyzed Quantitatively by UV-Vis spectrophotometry at a maximum wavelength
of 264 nm. The results of the qualitative analysis showed that ya pears were
positive for vitamin C. The results of quantitative analysis showed that the
average level of vitamin C in ya pear juice was 0,00467% ± 0,00005 with a % KV
of 1,1922%.
