Abstract :
Gotu kola is a plant that contains vitamin C, vitamin C is a very powerful
antioxidant. The purpose of this study was to determine the highest antioxidant
potential in three fractions of gotu kola extract. Qualitative test using phosphate
and ferricyanide buffer reagent gave yellow color, and FeCl reagent gave blue to
blue berlin.
The quantitative test was performed using UV-Vis spectrophotometry with
a wavelength of 676.0 nm and operating time 27 minutes. The results of the
quantitative test showed that the antioxidant capacity of each fraction were ethyl
acetate, water phase and N hexane. The average antioxidant capacity of ethyl
acetate was 0.09349, water phase 0.08742, Nhexane 0.0621.
In the ANOVA test, the results showed p = 0.714 which means that it is
greater than 0.05 that there is no significant difference or no significant difference
in vitamin C levels.
