Abstract :
Avocado plant (Persea americana Mill) is a tropical plant that grows in
many regions in Indonesia. Avocado leaves contain antioxidant activity, one of
which is flavonoids. In this study, the aim of this study was to determine the total
flavonoid levels in the sample of young avocado leaf boiled using the UV-Vis
spectrophotometry method. The sample of young avocado leaves is boiled for 5
minutes. Based on the qualitative test that has been done, the sample is proven to
contain flavonoids. The assay was carried out using a UV-Vis spectrophotometric
device. The standard solution used was quercetin with a maximum wavelength
measurement of 430.4 nm and operating time in the 37th minute. The results
showed that the boiled young and fresh avocado leaves boiled for 5 minutes had
an average flavonoid level of 30,3394 mgQE/100ml with % KV of 0.0009%.
