Abstract :
Hypertension is one of the number one comorbid diseases in the COVID
19 virus infection. Some people often use celery leaves as an alternative herbal
treatment. The apigenin content in celery can prevent blood vessel constriction
and hypertension. The reason it is made in patch preparations is because the
nature of the flavonoid compounds in celery leaves has low water solubility and a
short filling time in the small intestine so that it will result in a low absorption
process. The purpose of making patch preparations is to improve the bioaviability
of flavonoids which are expected to deliver the active substance into the body
properly and a preparation that meets the requirements of a good patch test can be
obtained. The extraction method used is maceration with 96% ethanol solvent. In
this study using a concentration of PEG 400 as a plasticizer of 0%, 10%, 20% and
30%. Patch evaluation includes pouring power, drying time, organoleptic, pH,
weight uniformity, percentage of elongation, percentage of water content and
resistance of patch folding. . The best formula is shown in formula IV with
physical test for patch preparations, namely pH 5 ± 0, weight uniformity 0.39 ±
0.0143, thickness 0.01 mm ± 0.006, elongation percentage 6.66% ± 1.15,
percentage of water content 7.9% ± 0.30 and folding resistance >700 times ± 0.
The higher the plasticizer concentration used, the more moist and elastic is the
patch.
