Abstract :
Flavonoids are polyphenol comfounds which have various activities
such as antioxidant, antiviral, antibacterials, and anti-inflammatory. Source of
flavonoids can be found in peel of a kepok banana peel. The purpose of this study
was to determine the total flavonoid content founds in the kepok banana peel
extract (Musa acuminata x balbisiana) by UV-Vis spectrophotometry . Extraction
is done using the maceration method with 70% ethanol solvent. The extract which
is got is used for and quantitative analysis. Determination of total flavonoid
content using a quercetin. The method used in the qualitative analysis of total
flavonoid was the NaOH, AlCl3, Wilstater Cyanidin, and TLC. Quantitative
analysis with AlCl3 reagent to form complex compounds. The qualitative analysis
showed that there were positive flavonoids in the ethanol extract of kepok banana
peel. Analysis continued with UV-Vis Spectrophotometry on a operating time at
the 28th minute and wavelength of 426,8 nm and. The average total flavonoids
content were 6,686 mgQE/g extract with a variation coefficient value of 1,15%.
