Abstract :
COVID-19 is a contagious disease caused by a new type of Coronavirus.
Considering that adolescent groups can be infected with SARS-CoV-2, it?s
necessary to increase knowledge of adolescents with effective and efficient
methods, one of which is audio visual media. The purpose of this research was to
determine the effect of education through audio visual media on the level of
knowledge of adolescents about prevention of COVID-19 transmission in
Kampung Tempel, Banyuanyar, Surakarta. This research is a True Experimental
Design with pretest-posttest control group design. Respondents in this research
were 60 respondents and divided into intervention and control group. The sampling
technique used in this reseacrch is Purposive Sampling. The test used in this
research is Wilcoxon test because the data are not normally distributed and the
Asymp results are obtained. Sig (2-tailed) 0.000 (p<0.05), which means that there
is a significant difference. The respondents level of knowledge in the intervention
group (pretest) are sufficient knowledge is 16 respondents (53.3%), good
knowledge is 9 respondents (30%), and lack knowledge is 5 respondents (16.7%).
The respondents level of knowledge after being given an education (posttest) are
good knowledge is 30 respondents (100%), so it can be concluded that there is an
effect of education through audio-visual media on the level of adolescent
knowledge about prevention of COVID-19 transmission in Kampung Tempel,
Banyuanyar, Surakarta.
