Abstract :
The increasing number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia has
encouraged the Indonesian Ministry of Health to recommend efforts to prevent
COVID-19, one of which is by increasing body immunity. There are many ways
that can be done to increase the body's immunity, one of which is by taking health
supplements. At the beginning of the pandemic, there was a vacuum of health
supplements in pharmacies, drugstores and supermarkets because people
experienced panic buying, so they bought health supplements to prevent COVID19. This research is included in a non-experimental descriptive study which aims
to determine the description of public knowledge in the use of supplements as an
effort to prevent COVID-19 at the Kimia Farma Pharmacy Salatiga. This research
was conducted by distributing a questionnaire containing 10 statement items that
had been tested for validity and reliability to people who bought supplements at
the Kimia Farma Pharmacy Salatiga from December 2020 to January 2021. The
sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling where The sample
used met the inclusion and exclusion criteria set by the researcher in order to
obtain a total sample of 100 respondents. The results showed that 46 respondents
had good knowledge, 43 respondents had good enough knowledge and there were
11 respondents with poor knowledge.
