Abstract :
Worm disease is still one of the public health problems in Indonesia.
Oxyuriasis is an infectious disease caused by Oxyuris vermicularis (Enterobius
vermicularis) or commonly referred to as pinworms. Children aged 7-8 years,
namely elementary school children are the age group that most often suffers from
helminthiasis. This researcher aims to identify Oxyuris vermicularis in children
with symptoms of pruritus ani, aged 7-8 years at Sdit Al-Hikam, Banyudono
Village, Banyudono District, Boyolali Regency.
This research method is descriptive. The population of children aged 7-8
years at SDIT Al-Hikam, Banyudono Village, Banyudono District, Boyolali
Regency, amounted to 8 children. The samples taken were 8 children using
purposive sampling technique. For the sampling method using the anal swab
method which is the best method in diagnosing Oxyuris vermicularis. Worm eggs
are taken with an anal swab or cellophane swab that is placed around the anus in
the morning before the child performs bathroom activities such as defecating,
urinating, and bathing.
The results obtained by taking a sample of 8 respondents, we get data on the
prevalence of detected Oxyuris vermicularis as many as 0 children (100%) while
the prevalence of undetected Oxyuris vermicularis as many as 8 children (0%) so
it can be concluded that there is no Oxyuriasis infection in children aged 7-8 years
old SDIT Al-Hikam Bayudoo Village, Banyudonno District, Boyolali Regency.
