Abstract :
Traditional markets in general are still lacking cleanliness, characterized
by a lot of waste and traders who still sell lesehan on the road so that there is
direct contact between vegetables sold with soil. Therefore I want to do research
with the aim of this research is to find out the contamination of eggs Soil
Transmitted Helminth on cabbage vegetables sold in several markets in Surakarta
This study uses sedimentation method with the principle of centrifugation
force can separate between suspension and supernatan so that worm eggs can be
deposited. The development includes several stages, namely cabbage sampling,
sample preparation, centrifuge and examination.
The results of this study are as follows: 6 cabbage samples from Gedhe
Market (0%), 6 cabbage samples from Nusukan Market (0%), 6 cabbage samples
from Legi Market (0%), 6 cabbage samples from Mojosongo Market (0%), 6
cabbage samples from Kadipolo market (0%).
The conclusion obtained that there is no contamination of Soil Transmitted
Helminths Eggs in cabbage vegetables sold in Surakarta Traditional Market with a
percentage of 100%.
