Abstract :
Cases of drug abuse are often found in Indonesia. One of them is
amphetamine. Amphetamines are class II psychotropics that were originally used
to treat obesity, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), narcolepsy, and
chronic fatigue. Amphetamines have a euphoric effect, increase alertness and
work activity, increase one's mood and self-confidence. One of the jobs that
require high endurance and vigilance is bus operator. This study aims to screen
test for the presence or absence of amphetamine in the urine of intercity bus
operator in the province at Tirtonadi Surakarta bus station.
This research is a descriptive study using urine samples. Samples were
taken from the bus operator between cities within the province at the Tirtonadi
Surakarta bus station in the western gate, as many as 10 samples with a quota
sampling technique. Examination of the sample in this study using the strip test
method.
The results of the examination by screening test of 10 samples obtained
all negative amphetamine samples. A negative result is indicated by the formation
of a red line in the test zone and the control zone of the test strip used. In this
amphetamine screening test, there were respondents who took drugs or vitamins
but did not affect the results of the existing examinations.
The amphetamine screening test of 10 samples of urine from intercity
buses within the province didn?t show the presence of amphetamine.
