Abstract :
Carbon monoxide (CO) dangerous because it comes from very
motorized vehicle. CO gas will enter the body and bind to hemoglobin from
carboxyhemoglobin. This study aims to determine COHb levels in motorcycle
rider National STIKES students based on the type of mask used.
This research is descriptive research with sampling method quota
sampling. Respondents in this study were students of Nasional STIKES totaling
seven respondents who were taken from the population according to
predetermined criteria. COHb level examination using the Conway diffusion cell
method using a spectrophotometer UV Visible.
COHb levels result in the sample being examined 0,43%, 0,39%, 0,34%,
0,37%, 0,42%, 0,42%, 0,48%. The examination was carried out at a wavelength of
371.0 nm with operating time of 60 ? 120 minutes.
Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the COHb levels in
respondents are still with normal limits according of the Minister of Health of the
Republic Indonesia No 70 of 2016 which is not more than 3.5%.
