Abstract :
Alcohol is a drink that contains addictive substances (ethanol) and can cause
loss of consciousness, affect behavior, ways of thinking so that people become
abnormal. The prevalence of drinking alcohol for men aged 15 years and over was
3.0% and for women 0.2%. Alcohol will trigger enzymes in the liver that break
down protein and produce more uric acid. This study aims to determine the
description of uric acid levels in alcoholic drinkers in Demangan Village, RW 14,
Karanganyar Regency
This study is a descriptive study with 30 blood samples of alcoholic drinkers
who have signed an informed consent in Demangan Village, RW 14, Karanganyar
Regency. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. Uric acid levels in
this blood sample were checked with a Mc15 Photometer.
The results of this study indicate that from 30 blood samples examined, uric
acid levels in alcohol drinkers in Demangan Village were more than normal as
many as 13 respondents and within normal limits as many as 17 respondents. The
conclusion in this study At a duration of >3 years as many as 13 people (43%) had
uric acid levels more than normal. At the frequency of alcohol consumption <3
times/week, 1 person (3%) had uric acid levels more than normal, while the
frequency >3 times/week as many as 11 people (37%) had uric acid levels more
than normal. In respondents with consumption volume of 1 bottle/consumption as
many as 13 people (43%) had uric acid levels more than normal.
