Abstract :
Cadmium is one type of heavy metal that is dangerous affects humans. This
study aims to determine whether the levels of cadmium contained in the hair of
painting workshop workers in Surakarta City exceeds the normal limit or not
according to the Biolab Medical Unit in 2012 which is <0.10 ppm. This research was conducted in January-April 2021 at the Laboratory of the
Surabaya Industrial Standardization Research Institute. The type of research used
is descriptive, research subjects are car painting workers in the city of Surakarta
totaling 8 people. Measurement of cadmium levels using Atomic Absorption
Spectrophotometer. The results showed that the levels of cadmium in hair codes B1 to B8
showed results <0.028 ppm. The level of cadmium in the hair of car painting workers in the city of
Surakarta is less than normal limit according to the Biolab Medical Unit, which is
<0.10 ppm
