Abstract :
Lead (Pb) is one of toxic metals that can cause poisoning. The body can be
exposed to lead through food and drink or risk in a inhalation during works. Jobs
that have a high risk of exposure to lead include motorbike mechanics who can
directly inhale the residual gas from motor vehicles containing lead. Not only
from inhalation, but also oral, dermal.
This study aims to determine the levels of lead in hair, and whether it
exceeds the Indonesian Health Ministry Decree. This type pf research is a
descriptive study. This research was conducted at the Surabaya Industrial
Standardization and Research Institute in April-May 2021 with a total sample of

Motorbike mechanics?s hair samples were obtained using the pusposive
sampling method and examined using an Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer.
The results of this study shiwed varying levels from 3.53 to 5.58 mg/kg in the hair
of motorbike mechanics.
The levels of lead in the hair motorbike mehanics in Surakarta City still
meet the threshould value of <12 ppm according to the Indonesian Health
Ministry Decree.
