Abstract :
Antibiotics are the drugs most widely used in infections caused by bacteria.
The use of appropriate antibiotics is important to note because side effects are
quite dangerous and their use is not appropriate can cause antibiotic resistance.
The purpose of this study was to determine how the level of community knowledge
in dukuh Seblabur, Blimbing, Sambirejo, district of Sragen on antibiotics. The
design of this study was a descriptive study with a sample technique that was used
non random-purposive sampling, the number of respondents were 125 people who
met the inclusion and exclusion criteria using a questionnaire measuring
instrument. Based on the results of the study the level of community knowledge in
dukuh Seblabur, Blimbing, Sambirejo district of Sragen on antibiotics showed
that 36 respondents (28.8%) had good knowledge, 71 respondents (56.8%) had
enough knowledge and 18 respondents (14.4% ) lack of knowledge. While the
level of public knowledge based on the average value of indicators: general
knowledge about antibiotics included in the category of lack (48.6%), how to use
and rules of use of antibiotics included in the good category (84.0%) and how to
store antibiotics and side effects included in the category enough (72.4%). In
general, the level of public knowledge about the use of antibiotics is included in
the sufficient category
