Abstract :
Gout is a disease caused by a pile of uric acid / crystals in tissues, especially in
joint tissues. Based on data obtained from WHO states that arthritis sufferers in
Indonesia reach 81% of the population. The number of people with gout over time
tends to increase. National prevalence for joint disease is 30.3%. Risk factors for
gout in the elderly are genetic, age, sex, obesity and lifestyle.The purpose of this
study was to determine the risk factors for gout in the elderly in Nguter Sukoharjo
District.This research method uses non-experimental descriptive research. This
research was conducted in March 2020. The population in this study was 36
people with saturated sampling technique. Data obtained with a question sheet
(questionnaire), then the data is processed and presented in tabular form and
narrated.The results of this research show that of 30 respondents showed gout in
the elderly in Nguter Sukoharjo sub-district is influenced by factors of age, sex,
obesity and lifestyle. Lifestyle factors are the most influencing factors for gout,
with a total of 22 people (73.3%), then factors that do not affect gout as many as
21 people (70%) are genetic
