Abstract :
Uric acid is the end product of purine metabolism. Peanut (Arachis hypogaea)
is an agribusiness commodity that has high economic value and is a source of
protein and purines. Excessive intake of boiled peanuts can cause purine
substances that enter the body to increase, then through metabolism in the body,
these purines become uric acid.
The type of research used is experimental. This study used 2 treatments
including 1 treatment group boiled peanuts and 1 group as a control treatment.
The average uric acid level in the control group was 2.8 mg/dl and in the
treatment group was 4.0 mg/dl. From the test results Shapiro-Wilk found that the
data were normally distributed (p> 0.05),test data Test Levene shows that the data
is assumed to be the same (p> 0.05),test data t-test showed that the value of
significance (p = 0.000) . This indicates that Ho is rejected, which means there is a
significant difference (p<0.05) in uric acid levels in male rats as control and those
who have been given treatment.
Based on the data from the results of the study, it can be seen that there are
significant differences between male white rats. in control with male white rats
treated with boiled peanuts. This shows that there is an effect of giving boiled
peanuts on uric acid levels in male white rats (Rattus novergicus).
