Abstract :
Improper drug storage can cause drug damage as well as losses to the hospital, so
the drug must be stored properly so that the quality is maintained until the drug is
distributed topatient. This research aims to evaluate drugs storage and to
determine the amount of expired and damaged drugs in the Surakarta Islamic
Hospital pharmaceutical installation. This type of research is a descriptive study
with the main objective to make a picture of a situation objectively. Data
collection was carried out using the observation method according to the
Permenkes No 72 of 2016 about the basic standard of pharmacy in a hospital. The
observation data is analyzed using the cheklists paper, damaged and expired drugs
are counted and the tested. The result of the research shows that the Pharmacy
Installation of Surakarta Islamic Hospital in applying the spatial arrangement
73,9%, preparation of drug stock 90,9%, stock card listing, and observation of
drug quality in accordance with the provisions in the hospital pharmaceutical
service standard based on the Regulation of the Minister of Health. The
percentage of expired and damaged drugs in pharmaceutical installations is 2%.
