Abstract :
Indonesia is a country consisting of thousands of islands and inhabited by
various ethnic groups who have local wisdom in accordance with culture and
customs that are firmly held based on hereditary traditions and inherited from
their predecessors as well as the diversity of plant species used as traditional
medicines (OT) which are trusted and believed to be true. Ethnopharmacy is an
approach used to explore knowledge in terms of the use of medicinal plants in
more depth. One of them is in the Hamlet of Tempel Pakis Baru, Nawangan
District, Pacitan. This study aims to determine the use of plants as traditional
medicine in Tempel Pakis Baru Hamlet. Determination of informants using the
snowball sampling method, followed by open-ended interviews. The parameters
used are UV (Use Value) and ICF (Informant Concencus Factor). Based on the
results of the study, it was found that 27 types of plants were used as an
alternative treatment for hypertension in Tempel Pakis Baru Hamlet, Nawangan
Pacitan sub-district. There were 8 types of plants with the highest UV values that
have the potential as alternative treatments for hypertension. In addition, there are
12 types of plants obtained from the calculation of the ICF value.
