Abstract :
The preparation of hand sanitizer gel ethanol extract of srikaya leaf (Annona
squamosa) has antibacterial activity of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus
because it contains flavonoids. The stability of the physical preparation of hand
sanitizer gel is influenced by the combination of the proportion of CMC Na and
carbopol as a gelling agent. This research was conducted to find the most optimum
composition of CMC Na and carbopol, and to obtain results that were not
significantly different from samples with positive controls. Antibacterial activity if
it has the ability to inhibit bacteria will form a clear zone around the well.
This research was conducted using a laboratory experimental method by
extracting srikaya leaves by maceration which was then continued with the
manufacture of gel hand sanitizer with variations in the proportion of CMC Na and
carbopol optimization was carried out. One of the optimization methods that can be
used to obtain the optimum formula is the Simplex Lattice Design. Antibacterial
activity tests were carried out on hand sanitizer gel preparations by looking at the
inhibitory power based on the size of the clear zone. Test using independent t-test.
Based on the test results obtained the best composition is CMC Na 3% and
carbopol 2% desirability value 0.536. The data were analyzed statistically using the
SPSS 25 program, the significance value was > 0.05. using the dosage formula to
obtain the optimum formula based on the test parameters pH, dispersion, adhesion,
and viscosity, the test parameters were carried out byone sample t test. Testing of
antibacterial activity against Escherichia coliand Staphylococcus aureus had a
mean of 15.7 mm and 19.6, respectively. Inhibition data obtained significantly
different results between the sample and the positive control.
