Abstract :
Ketapang leaves (Terminalia catappa L) contain compounds of tannins,
sterols, triterpenoids, saponins and flavonoids which are compounds that can be
used to accelerate the healing of cuts. This research is an experimental study using
male wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus). This study was conducted by dividing the
test animals into 5 groups including a positive control group (Betadine cream), a
negative control group (Cream base), a group of 15%, 20%, and 25% ketapang
leaf cream extract. The treatment was by giving a cut with a length of 2cm, and a
depth of ± 2mm. Each group was smeared with cream of ± 0.5 grams and
observed for 14 days. The research data was processed using statistics using the
SPSS Version 22 program with the ANOVA method and continued with the T
test. The results of this study showed that the preparation of the ethanol extract
cream of ketapang leaves had the activity of accelerating wound healing in male
wistar rats and formula 3 with a concentration of 25% showed the same activity.
good and there was no significant difference with the positive control (Betadine
cream).
