Abstract :
A cut is a wound caused by being cut by a sharp instrument. The characteristics
are open wounds, pain, the length of the wound is greater than the depth of the
wound. Wound treatment can be done by administering drugs with natural
compounds, one of which is celery leaf (Apium graveolens L.). Celery leaves can
be developed to treat cuts. This study aims to determine the activity of the ethyl
acetate fraction of celery leaf (Apium graveolens L.) ethanol extract cream against
cuts and to determine the concentration of the ethyl acetate fraction of celery (Apium
graveolens L.) ethanol extract in a cream preparation that has activity against cuts. .
The cream was made at several concentrations of the ethyl acetate fraction of
celery leaf ethanol extract, namely 1, 2 and 4%. The activity test was carried out on
5 treatment groups, each group of 5 male rats by slashing their backs. As a positive
control, betadine cream was used and a cream-based negative control wasused.
Giving cream to the wound is done 2 times a day. The parameter measuredis the
speed at which the wound heals. The activity test data were statistically tested using
one way ANOVA and post hoc Tukey test.
The activity test results showed that the cream with concentrations of 1, 2, and
4% had activity against cuts, 4% concentration had wound healing activity against
malewhite rats of wistarstrain comparable to the healing activityof positivecontrols.
