Abstract :
Hypertension is defined as a persistent increase in arterial blood pressure.
Hypertension is a major problem for people in Indonesia and in several
countries in the world. Treatment of hypertension requires a large cost,
because it is carried out in a long period of time, therefore a costeffectiveness analysis is carried out in order to assist in making decisions on
the selection of drugs that are effective in terms of benefits and costs. This
study aims to determine the cost-effectiveness of using single and
combination antihypertensive drugs at the Klaten Islamic Hospital in JanuaryDecember 2019. This study used a descriptive method with retrospective data
collection with pharmacoeconomic analysis using the CEA (Cost
Effectiveness Analysis) method. The data taken include: medical record data
of hypertension patients, the cost of antihypertensive drugs and administrative
costs of inpatient treatment at the Klaten Islamic Hospital. The sample in this
study was 101 patients including 31 patients using a single antihypertensive
and 70 patients using a combination antihypertensive. The analysis of the
results of this study showed the percentage of therapeutic effectiveness from
the use of amlodipine 77.77%, candesartan 76.47% and the combination of
candesartan + amlodipine 80.00%, then calculated the average total cost of
using amlodipine antihypertensive Rp.67,184.11; candesartan Rp. 87,548,53 and
candesartan+amlodipine Rp. 85,524,9. The results showed that the single
antihypertensive drug amlodipine was more cost-effective with an ACER
value of Rp.863,88 compared to the single antihypertensive drug candesartan
Rp. 1,144,87 and combination antihypertensive candesartan+amlodipine Rp.
