Abstract :
The right of drugs use is necessary for the success of target therapy for
hypertensive patients. Inaccurate use of drugs can cause therapy failure and can cause
unwanted effects. The target of treatment for hypertensive patients according to JNC
VIII is if the blood pressure of 60 years is <150/90 mmHg and for those aged <60
years, the blood pressure is <140/90 mmHg. This study aims to determine the
relationship between the accuracy of drug use and the achievement of blood pressure
targets in inpatients with hypertension at the Klaten Islamic Hospital for the period 1
January - 31 December 2019. This study aims to determine the relationship between
the accuracy of drug use and the achievement of blood pressure targets in inpatients
with hypertension at the Klaten Islamic Hospital for the period 1 January - 31
December 2019. This study was conducted using a quantitative method and is a
correlation study using a retrospective approach. 125 samples. Samples of inpatient
hypertensive patients at the Klaten Islamic Hospital were analyzed using the 27th
edition of the Drug Information Handbook to compare the accuracy of drugs and
doses as well as the JNC VIII standard guidelines to determine the achievement of
blood pressure targets and were analyzed using bivariate with alternative fisher test.
Based on the results of the characteristics of hypertensive patients, most of them were
female (62.4%), the most comorbid group was DM (10.4%). The accuracy of the
patient and the right indication is 100%, the right drug is 97.6%, the dose is 92.8%.
Fisher's alternative test showed that there was a significant relationship between the
accuracy of drug use and the achievement of blood pressure targets (0.002 p <0.05).
