Abstract :
Carbon monoxide is a colorless and tasteless component. Carbon
monoxide is the largest contributor to air pollution sourced from motor vehicle
gas discharge. High levels of carbon monoxide in the air can affect human health.
This study aims to determine the level of carboxyemoglobin in active smoker
students at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan Nasional National with conway
diffusion cell method.
This research is descriptive research with sampling techniques, namely
quota sampling and analysis used that is simple linear regression. The study
subjects were 7 respondents drawn from the population according to the specified
criteria. COHb level examination using UV-Vis A&E Lab Spectrophotometer.
The results of the study obtained COHb levels between 0.3770% -
0.4839% of 7 respondents namely KODE 2 = 0.4344%; CODE 5 = 0.3960%;
CODE 8 = 0.3770%; CODE 12 = 0.4268%; CODE 13 = 0.4114%; CODE 14 =
0.4238%; and CODE 15 = 0.4839%. Linear regression line obtained by
Y=0.9388x ? 0.0107 at wavelengths of 371 nm with an Operating Time of 60-120
minutes.
The conclusion in this study is that the level of carboxsihemoglobin in
the blood of active smokers in Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan Nasional Nasional
is still within the safe threshold according to PERMENKES RI Number 70 of
2016 which is no more than 3.5%.
