Abstract :
Staphylococcus aureus is a gram-positive bacterium, spherical in shape
and usually arranged in clusters, non-motile, non-sporing, not encapsulated and
can ferment glucose. Staphylococcus aureus bacteria are classified as normal flora
that are capable of producing enterotoxins that can cause food poisoning,
vomiting, abdominal pain, nausea and diarrhea. These bacteria are usually crosscontaminated from nose, mouth, hands, cooking utensils, and can also occur
through food vendors such as fruit salad vendors. This study aims to determine the
presence or absence of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria in hand swabs of fruit
salad traders in Taman Jaya Wijaya Mojosongo Surakarta.
This type of research is descriptive research with a total sampling
technique of 10 samples. Samples were taken from 10 palm swabs of fruit salad
traders in Taman Jaya Wijaya Mojosongo Surakarta.The result of this research is
that no Staphylococcus aureus bacteria was found from the 10 samples examined.
The conclusion of this study was the identification of Staphylococcus
aureus bacteria in the hand swabs of fruit salad traders in Taman Jaya Wijaya
Mojongo Surakarta not found Staphylococcus aureus bacteria but found other
bacteria.
