Abstract :
Traditional herbal medicine is still widely consumed by the community today.
One of them is the herbal beras kencur. Herbal beras kencur is believed by the
public to have various health benefits and has been proven empirically. Kencur
rhizome contains saponins, flavonoids and essential oils that have antifungal
properties. This study aims to determine the value of yeast mold in herbal beras
kencur. This study uses a total sampling method. The sample in this study used
herbal beras kencur which was obtained from three herbal medicine traders in
Karangpakel Village, Trucuk District, Klaten Regency. Samples that have been
homogenized and diluted are planted on PDA (Potato Dextrose Agar) media. The
results showed that the highest Yeast Mold Number Value was at merchant 3 with
a total of 140 colonies. The higher the Yeast Mold Value, the preparation is not
suitable for consumption.
