Abstract :
Insulin leaves are one of the plants that are easily found in indonesia and
have many benefit. Insulin leaves contain bioactive compounds such as proteins,
lipids, fiber and flavonoids. Flavonoids are compounds that can be used as
antibacterial . this study aims to determine the total flavonoid content of the
fraction of ethyl acetate, n-hexane and insulin leaf water and knowing the highest
flavonoid content from the ethyl acetate, n-Hexane, and water fractions. The
method used in this research is the liquid – liquid fraction namely the ethyl
acetate, n-hexane, and water fractions. Quantitative analysis for determination of
total flavonoid content of insulin leaf fractions using UV-Vis apectrophotometry
at wavelength of 431,5 nm and Operating Time 33 minutes. Based on the results
of the research, the determination of the total flavonoid content of the insulin leaf
fractions that has been obtained in the ethyl acetate fraction is 21,0547
mgQE/100ml, the n-hexane fraction is 20,1367 mgQE/100ml and water fraction is
18,31738 mgQE/100ml and the highest total flavonoid content is obtained in the
ethyl acetate fraction.
