Abstract :
Ceftriaxone injection is a third-generation cephalosporin broadspectrum antibiotic, which in its use in hospitals requires a compounding
process, namely reconstitution and dilution. In accordance with applicable
regulations and guidelines, the compounding of sterile preparations must be
carried out with appropriate facilities, an aseptic compounding process, and
carried out by pharmaceutical personnel, in order to obtain preparations with
good quality and stability. This study aims to observe the compounding
process and physical properties of the compounding of ceftriaxone injection
preparations carried out at one of the Mojosongo 2 General Hospital
Karanganyar in the period December 2021 -January 2022. The research was
conducted by observation of compounding personnel, and the process of
compounding ceftriaxone injection preparations. Observations were carried
out with the help of a check list that was adjusted to the Standard Operating
Procedure (SOP) at Mojosongo 2 General Hospital Karanganyar. A total of
32 ceftriaxone injection compounding processes were used as samples. The
results of compounding with process conditions are not in accordance with
standard operating procedures (SOP) are 0,8 % SOP at the mixing stage.
The results showed that the compounding of ceftriaxone injection
preparations at Mojosongo 2 General Hospital, Karanganyar was 99.2% in
accordance with the applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
