Abstract :
Klebsiella pneumoniae is a Gram negative bacteria that can cause various
infections. The ethanol extract of Moringa stem bark (Moringa oleifera Lam) can
be used as an antibacterial. Moringa bark contains flavonoids, saponins and
tannins. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of ethanol extract
of Moringa oleifera (Moringa oleifera Lam) bark to inhibit the growth of
Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria and to determine at what concentration the
ethanolic extract of Moringa oleifera Lam bark had the strongest inhibitory effect
on Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria. The method used is disc diffusion (Kirby &
Bauer) with a concentration series of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. The results of
the inhibition zone obtained were analyzed by descriptive method. The results of
the inhibition zones obtained were 100%, 75%, 50%, and 25% concentrations of
6mm, 6mm, 6mm, 6mm. (Moringa Oleifera Lam) bark extract could not inhibit
Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria.
