Abstract :
The Covid-19 Pandemi Era as a medium to awaken the urgency maintains
health from starting with washing hands with a soap that can be diverted using
hand sanitizer especially in areas with minimal of clean water distribution, easy
and portable and greatly practical enabling communities to keep their hand clean
to avoid viruses and bacteria including Staphylococcus epidermidis which is
normal flora’s skin.
This research uses descriptive design that aims to know the power of
antibacterial various brands of hand sanitizer spray on the growth of
Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria. Sampling analysis by quota sampling
technique that is sampling that suits the need for 7 different brand sanitizer spray
which contained alcohol with 60-95% level or phenol faction.
This research using Kirby Bauer method with Disc diffusion technique
where each disc blank was soaked for 15 minutes on each test sample and
repetitioned 4 times. From repeated testing result came a clear zone as a inhibition
by Hand Sanitizer Spray against Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria.
Based on the results of research on antibacterial tests of several spray hand
sanitizer brand against Staphylococcus epidermidis showed that all brands of hand
sanitizer spray tested were able to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus epidermidis
with an average of 9.3 mm diameter.
