Abstract :
Worms are infestations of one or more parasitic worms in the intestine which are included in the intestinal nematode class. Worms caused by intestinal nematodes generally come from Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH), worms to reach their infective form require soil with certain conditions. Farming is one of the jobs that is in close contact with the soil directly and can result in STH infection. The majority of farmers when working do not use complete Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including gloves, footwear such as sandals or shoes that are in direct contact with the ground, besides that farmers also do not wash their hands thoroughly before consuming food and drinks. This study used a descriptive research design with NaOH 0,2% precipitation method. The samples analyzed were 20 fingernail samples of women farmers who grow rice seedlings in Laban Hamlet, Laban Village, Mojolaban District, Sukoharjo Regency, with total sampling and observed under a microscope. The results of the research that was carried out on the nails of farmers growing rice seeds in Laban Hamlet, Laban Village, Mojolaban District, Sukoharjo Regency, did not find Soil Transmitted Helminth eggs, so negative results were obtained in 20 samples that had been examined.
