Abstract :
Soybean is one of the plants of the family Fabaceae scattered in the
tropics, including Indonesia. Soybeans contain chemical compounds that can be
used as a traditional medicine. The aim of the researcher is to know the total
flavonoid level in white soybean (Soja max piper) with UV-Visible
spectrophotometric method. The method used in the research determination of
total flavonoid content in white soybean extract by UV-Visible
Spectrophotometric method. Identification of flavonoids using concentrated HCl
reagents and magnesium metals to detect the presence or absence of flavonoids
contained in the sample in the presence of color change. The results of
determination of total flavonoid content contained in the extract of white bean
seed with an average flavonoid level of 0.11425 ppm. The identification of
flavonoids with concentrated HCl reagents and magnesium metals leads to a red
color change that signifies positive samples containing flavonoids.
