ABSTRAK Nina Nafisah (Dibimbing oleh: Ayi Yustiati, Junianto dan Eri Setiadi). 2015. Kelangsungan Hidup dan Pertumbuhan Benih Ikan Nila (Oreochromis niloticus) BEST yang diberi Probiotik EM4 (Effective Microorganisms-4) dalam Media Pemeliharaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi probiotik EM4 yang memberikan kelangsungan hidup dan laju pertumbuhan tertinggi bagi benih ikan nila BEST pada media pemeliharaan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari tanggal 10 Maret-18 April 2015 di Balai Penelitian Perikanan Budidaya Air Tawar Bogor, Instalasi Penelitian dan Pengembangan Teknologi Lingkungan dan Toksikologi Perikanan Budidaya Air Tawar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan. Perlakuan tersebut adalah pemberian probiotik EM4 dengan konsentrasi A (0 ml/L), B (0,7 ml/L), C (0,8 ml/L), D (0,9 ml/L) tanpa penggantian air pada media pemeliharaan. Parameter yang diamati adalah kelangsungan hidup, pertumbuhan dan kualitas air. Analisis data kelangsungan hidup dan pertumbuhan menggunakan analisis sidik ragam ANOVA dan uji jarak berganda Duncan dengan taraf kepercayaan 95%. Kualitas air di analisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian probiotik EM4 sebesar 0,8 ml/L pada media pemeliharaan benih nila (Oreochromis niloticus) BEST memberikan nilai kelangsungan hidup dan laju pertumbuhan harian tertinggi masing-masing sebesar 63,33% dan 2,08%. Hasil kualitas air yang diberikan mikroorganisme probiotik EM4 menunjukan suhu berkisar antara 26,39-26,62˚C, nilai pH berkisar antara 7,06-7,30, konsentrasi oksigen terlarut (DO) berkisar antara 4,39-4,88 mg/L dan amonia berkisar antara 0,005-0,013 mg/L. Survival and Growth Rates of Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) BEST Fingerlings that given EM4 (Effective Microorganisms-4) Probiotics in Culture Media. The purpose of this research was to determine the concentration of EM4 probiotic which provide survival and the highest growth rates for the Tilapia BEST seed in Culture Media. The research was conducted on 10 March-18 April 2015 at the Research of Freshwater Aquaculture Department Bogor, Research and Technological Development Environment & Toxicology Freshwater Aquaculture Installation. The Research Methods that used was experimental method completely randomized design with four treatments and three replications. The treatments were addition of EM4 probiotics with the concentration of A (0 ml/ L), B (0,7 ml/L), C (0,8 ml/L), D (0,9 ml/L) without replacement of water in culture media. Parameters measured were survival rate, growth rates and water quality. Analysis of the survival and growth rates were analyzed by analysis of variance ANOVA and Duncan`s multiple range test with 95% significance level. Quality of water were analyzed by the descriptive analysis. The results showed that concentration of EM4 probiotic addition for the highest survival and growth rates was obtained from treatment C (0,8 ml/L) respectively 63,33% and 2,08%. The water quality results given microorganisms EM4 probiotic showed temperatures ranged between 26,39-26,62˚C, pH values ranged between 7,06-7,30, the concentration of dissolved oxygen (DO) ranged from 4,39 to 4,88 mg/L and amonia ranged from 0,005 to 0,013 mg/L.
