Kelapa Sawit 8 Bumi Berkat No.1 Telpon (0511) 7672224 Banjarbaru Kalimantan Selatan 70714 e-mail : dayankaidila@ymail.com ABSTRACT Medical Laboratory Technologist is a job that have at risk of contracting a disease which is Hepatitis B. Research purposed to determine the percentage of infection of Hepatitis B in Medical Laboratory Technologist at Regional Health Center Banjarbaru in April 2013. The type of this research is descriptive method with18 people in total sampling. The results of the 18 samples showed that Medical Laboratory Technologist workers not exposed by hepatitis B virus (HBsAg negative). Characteristics of Medical Laboratory Technologistworkers by education analysts educated D3 50% (9 people), S1 11.2% (2 people), D4 22.2% (4 people) and the SMAK 16.6% (3 people) and of the long work that 61 , 12% (11 people) who worked more than 10 years, 6% (1 person) work more than 5 years, as well as the work of more than 5 years but below 10 years as much as 33% (6 people). Habits of health outcomes analyst working in the lab centers mostly good (35%), fairly good (35%) and less good (30%). Due to the lack of use of personal protective equipment such as lab coats (88.89%), mask (100%) and gloves (88.89%) were used as working, according to analysts experience the use of personal protective equipment interfere with activities. However, officers always take yourself with good behavior such as hand washing with soap and disinfectant after completion of work in the laboratory. Recommended to the lab analyst HBsAg negative though to be more careful in their work and always use personal protective equipment especially gloves and always wash hands after work and continued using disinfectants.
