ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the effect of nutrition education on BMI and quality of life of new patients with CKD undergoing hemodialysis at the Lavalette hospital. This research is an experimental study and uses a pre-post test experimental design. In this study, researchers used purposive random sampling. The measuring instrument used for the study was the pre and post BMI observation sheet and a questionnaire about the quality of life before and after the study. With a sample of 20 respondents. The statistical test used to test this research is Wilcoxon. Based on the results of BMI identification, it was found that almost half of the respondents in the Hemodialysis Room of Lavalette Hospital Malang City had a normal BMI of 8 respondents (40%) before treatment. And almost half of the respondents had a normal BMI as many as 9 respondents (45%) after treatment. before treatment. And almost all respondents have a good quality of life category as many as 17 respondents (85%) after treatment. From the test results using the Wilcoxon test, it was found that the p value <0.05, namely p = 0.016, which means that there is an effect of nutrition education on the BMI of new patients with CKD undergoing hemodialysis in the Lavalette hospital. From the test results using the Wilcoxon test, it was found that p <0.05, namely p = 0.039, which means that there is an influence of nutrition education on the quality of life of new patients with CKD undergoing hemodialysis in the Lavalette hospital . Seeing from the result of the study, it is hoped that the provision of education to new patients undergoing hemodialysis can be given as early asa possible so that BMI does not decrease and quality of life is
