ABSTRACT
Patients with DM need motivation and self-efficacy in increasing independence in disease management. This study aims to determine the relationship between DM patients' motivation and self-efficacy in self-care in the internal room of RSUD RA Basoeni Mojokerto. The design of this study was correlational with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study were all DM patients in RSUD RA Basoeni Ruang Interna with a total of 50 people and a sampling of 44 respondents. The sampling method uses random sampling. The independent variable of motivation and the dependent variable of self-efficacy. Collecting data using a questionnaire and statistically tested with spearmen. The results showed that 81.1% of the respondents' self-care motivation was in the moderate category and 9.1% had strong motivation and weak motivation. Almost all 95.5% of respondents have moderate self-efficacy and the other 4.5% have high self-efficacy. Based on the Spearman test, it showed a correlation value of 0.337 with a significant P value of 0.02 0.005 which indicated that there was a relationship between motivation and self-efficacy of DM patients in self-care in the internal room of RSUD RA Basoeni Mojokerto. This research can be used as a guideline for educating DM patients regarding motivation and self-efficacy in self-care so that it can become a reference for better care of DM patients.Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus, Self Motivation, Self Efficacy
